Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 12–9:30 pm. We went to this place first time for my son’s birthday (Aug 12th) dinner, the experience was horrible, the guy in the front who seated us was very rude and demanding 20% tips and when I said I don’t like your service , he was saying don’t come back here! Also we felt they don’t wanted us in the restaurant and felt racism towards us.

First of all, the parking at this popular Asian mall in Edison was horrendous; you need to be mentally prepared, lest you get riled up and ruin your mood for a good meal. I remember this hot pot place from a long time ago when it was called Little Sheep. It was supposedly regrouped and rebranded as Happy Lamb in 2017. It is a bit old-fashioned in that instead of an individual hot pot for each seat, it offers one stove per table and up to two different broths for the pot. Also, aside from the proteins which you need to order through the wait staff, we get to grab the rest of the side ingredients ourselves, unlike at more modern hot pot places which must be explicitly ordered. In this way, I can take just one piece of calamari and one slice of winter melon, grab more if I like it without troubling anyone, just like at a regular AYCE buffet. Another plus is that it’s finally possible to track your own items!!! The thinly sliced meats are always nice. The mala beef was really spicy, even after swishing it in the broth a few times. The giant prawns were the star of the pot—so sweet and tasty—until I realized none were deveined, at which point I stopped eating them. The beverages (e.g

It’s probably the best close-ish hot pot if you’re a Princeton student and are not going to travel all the way to New York. It’s better than K-Pot hotpot. They have a lot of options at the bar in the back for sauces, drinks, and sides. The meat that we got was delicious. It’s slightly on the expensive side though for a non-new York restaurant, especially if you come for dinner on Friday or the weekend.

Highly recommend having a meal at Happy Lamb Hot Pot. The lunch prices are fantastic though the dinner is still worth the price. Everything is all you can eat and the meats are dependent on which pricing tier you select. High quality and delicious meats regardless. The vegetables and seafood are fresh. The sauce bar has so many options. Love the roasted peanuts they have up there too! So many different kinds of seafood, tofu, veggies, noodles, etc. Definitely recommend the classic bone broth and the tomato based broth. If you want a spicy option, that one is good as well. They continuously pour additional broth so you never run out! The staff is super friendly and helpful. Could not recommend this spot enough! Now for my standard comments. Location is clean and well kept. Parking lot is for the whole Hmart plaza so plan accordingly...it's crazy and chaotic! But it’s also free.

The VIP option here is definitely the choice if you come here on a weekend since it’s the same price all 7 days of the week. On the other hand, the house special option for weekday lunch is only $23.99 with occasional promotions which is definitely a steal. They recently replaced the dessert bar with a cotton candy machine which is a bit disappointing but still nice. The meat here is high quality and obviously AYCE. They provide soft drinks for free and milk tea/other special drinks for VIPs. This place is definitely worth your time if you’re looking for some good hotpot. Strongly recommend!
